Correct! And one day, it will be able to pick you up anywhere without someone in the driver seat.

Yep! Agree 100% I’ve done TWO 48 State road trips in a Tesla.. and all but 6 states (P3) were done with a pre AP 2012 P85.

I’d say hands off the wheel except at 0:48 sec... bring hands on the wheel right there just to be safe. More importantly than hands on the wheel, one must keep the right foot close to the accelerator, to override any unwanted braking (far more common than steering mistakes)

True. Newest update seems to have made going under a bridge a good reason to slam the brakes. Haha.

You can drive all day and not feel tired. Most of the driver input is related to music.

Yep, drove 100 miles last night in the UK in my Model S. Coming home from relatives after Xmas with partner & nearly 6 year old in the car. Dual carriageways & good A roads most of the way so used Autopilot a lot. Simply superb road trip car!

I'd rather have humans driving. But hey, soon you can play Candy Crush and be totally obsolete, yay.

Translation: “I no longer pay attention to what my 3 ton missle is doing; to hell with everyone else”.

Actually now theres 2 drivers. The computer does the primary driving, and the human steps in as needed. People are terrible at focusing on a repetitive long duration task like road trip driving, and computers are awesome. The human driver then takes over as needed.
