      Probably very similar to the place reserved for those who designed a monetary union without a proper banking union and, once the banking crisis hit, transferred cynically the bankers' gigantic losses onto the shoulders of the weakest taxpayers.

          The Hapsburg subjugation of the Balkan states was the tinderbox in the events that led to the First World War. The EU looks very like the Hapsburg Empire right now, as it was around 1910.

          those weak taxpayers will actually be bearing the brunt in the context of the "banking union", as it will be possible to tap the ESM in the case the banking union bailout fund SRF has insufficient means

          In 1972 studied impact of SMU for Scotland & Southern USA & knew it led to loss of capital & skilled labour to wealthier parts of customs union, but at least UK/USA have proper central bank, tax harmonisation, same language, laws, culture, nationality, legal system, & legislature
