    Page 175 of my 300-pp. WIP, “Shadow on the River” a fast, fun modern mystery. Too many murder suspects vying for attention. Time to kill someone else? Or should there be an unfortunate disaster that kills several in one swell foop?

    Perhaps, one would notice that most of the population has been replaced by Robots. Notice that there are few "human" conversations. Ritual greetings & polite-speak do not form a complete language system.
