As the opposite I'm very curious what you thought of a) the order was in f events and b) what you thought after learning Aslan was an allegory. No pressure, no judgment.
a) not sure what you mean, can you clarify? b) didn't think anything of it, actually, it was years later. I don't even think there was an a-ha! moment, just gradually became more aware of the cultural background of Christianity.
OH THANK GOODNESS I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE
I didn't have a clue for years and years after I first read the series. In fairness I was 6 and didn't know much about Jesus to start with.
As an eight-year-old, when my (more religious) friend told me this, I was OUTRAGED and felt massively cheated. Make of that what you will.
You're why CS Lewis is dead
I didn’t get it until after the first movie. I saw the similarities but thought oh that’s cool he was doing a different take on it. I honestly thought it was meant to be its own distinct mythology.
I didn't got the Aslan = Jesus thing but I did often ask myself "Who died and made you God?"
Me neither!!! I loved him as a Giant Kitty perfectly well!
I heard that he was an allegory for Jesus and refused to read them! Lol
