in my framework, all specific instances of suffering are indications of thwarted meaning- a moral violation that there can be *one* solution to all suffering represents an extinguishment of meaning- stoicism, buddhism, even christianity all council a nihilism unto death

hrmm, not sure if this is what you're driving at, but noticed that suffering/ending suffering can't be the ultimate basis of any moral/meaning system. wireheading = ultimate horror

totes but distaste of wireheading doesn’t actually solve the problem of helplessness-in-suffering, a problem i suspect these hedonistic ideologies attempt to solve (to the detriment of all other moral problems)

Benatar, Ligotti and wireheading are at the end of the road when you make ending suffering the basis of your moral system and mission. It's tempting because things like virtue or justice or salvation are so nebulous and uncertain in comparison. suffering is raw and undeniable.
