in my framework, all specific instances of suffering are indications of thwarted meaning- a moral violation that there can be *one* solution to all suffering represents an extinguishment of meaning- stoicism, buddhism, even christianity all council a nihilism unto death

hrmm, not sure if this is what you're driving at, but noticed that suffering/ending suffering can't be the ultimate basis of any moral/meaning system. wireheading = ultimate horror

really tempting though because whatever else you might wonder about, suffering is undoubtedly real. still wonder if I'm not taking suffering seriously enough sometimes.
