People who get smug and/or agitated over men crying tend to have a variety of other issues as well, plus fairly reliably tissue-thin skin.

I am weirdly hypocritical in that: 1) I don't have any particularly harsh judgments towards men who cry. 2) I would be deeply embarassed and ashamed to be seen crying, at least by anyone who wasn't a very close family member or confidant.

My own opinion I guess is that there is a time for stoicism, keeping a stiff upper lip, and facing the world squarely and resolutely, and a time for processing and catharsis. My disapproval is for those who apply the wrong one in the wrong circumstances.
