one thing that goes ignored when looking at contemporary insurgent left/right movements is that radical rightists can usually fall back on structures that work (even if they don't work all that well) whereas radical leftists have to dodge the fact that their alternatives suck

As bad as the left is, the right is much worse the only good stuff rightists have come across are important insights into complex systems that they don't apply consistently because they can be turned towards arguing for left-wing values

I mean it is kind of hard to continue this line of discussion without descending into partisan "am not/are too" posting. But I will say that I mostly see the contemporary right adopting much of the left's better critiques of neoliberalism/capitalism.
