When is a low tolerance for badness (of experience, of environment) a good thing? Lens 1: Be present. Accept whatever comes up. It's all neutral in its nature. Buddhist-y. Lens 2: Don't accept shit. Make your life glorious. Find causes. Change badness. Believe in yourself.
Niebuhr tackled this problem with the serenity prayer, which has been reduced to the status of a cliche. Don't dismiss it though, it was written by one of the great thinkers of the 20th century and basically describes this problem.
