Men are assaulted by strangers more than women are. I don't get the disparity, where women are much more scared of strangers than men are. It seems like either hysteria or a stiff upper lip, depending on which gender we wanna blame here

The gender of the attackers is irrelevant.

1. It's not irrelevant in assessing the severity of an attack. 2. It's not irrelevant in assessing who is a potential attacker. I am not generally worried that a woman will try and knock me out or stab me just to prove a point.

Yeah, but that still doesn't change subjective experiences; women are concerned about being attacked (by men), men aren't as scared of being attacked (also by men), even tho it's more common.

What? What is your source on that? I think men are scared of other men all the time.
