I'm a huge fan of NodeJS Bluebird's Promise map function to manage pool of Promises (async taks) with a given concurrency. I decided (as an exercise) to code the equivalent in Python to get more familiar with asyncio: antoinevastel.com/python/2021/03

Have you thought about using as_completed from the concurrent.futures package?
I played around with it yesterday and had a lot of fun.
