like sure, you wanna compare the suicide rates of cis men vs trans women? or homelessness rates when it’s currently legal in half the country to fire someone for being lgbtq? or custody agreements when queer/trans parents can’t even adopt in more than half the country?

or how about we address the sheer volume in which trans women and african americans have been unjustly brutally murdered in our streets? or the fact that it’s illegal and/or punishable by death to be openly lgbtq in several african and middle eastern countries?

let’s stop pretending that asking for actually oppressed, marginalized groups to have their voices heard is suddenly an attack on the privileged. it’s not the same fucking thing. we as a society should know better and do better.

i say to respect allies in my original tweet, and am now choosing to use my platform to shed a light where i feel it’s needed. please don’t suggest that i’m suddenly taking a stance against cishet white men by pointing out the disparities that impact actual marginalized groups.

the original tweet brought up statistics, which is what i’ve also done. i’m not invalidating anyone by discussing issues where marginalized groups continue to be oppressed. so what exactly is your point?
