"The Electoral College ensures parties can only win with broad geographic coalitions." "What if all the swing states were in one region? Would that change your mind?" "Uhh IDK I don't actually think about things before I type them."

        1) They aren’t always in one region and never have been. 2) Solution is for one party to change the map by adjusting policy.

Under the hypothetical circumstance where the major swing states were in the same region, would that make the Electoral College less valuable by whatever the hell standard you have?

For all the swing states to be in one region, then there would need to be broad geographic coalitions beyond that region on each side. Not "evenly distributed coalitions throughout the country" but still pretty broad.

I mean I have no idea what a "broad geographic coalition" means because none of you ever quite define it.

IDK it's not very useful. Mostly it's one of the only topics where I literally don't know what people even think they're saying.

The fallacy here is “swing state” as if they are the only ones voting. By definition, there are other states which voted for the winner. Hence, broad geographic coalition.
