You say you're looking out for the mental health for the creators. I'm pretty sure there are better ways to go about doing that than completely removing the option for everyone to see the real time sub count for everyone over 1000 subs.
@YouTube @TeamYouTube Please don't change the YouTube API and remove the potential for real time sub counts. No one wants this change for a variety of reasons. You can change how the site itself shows the sub count, but please don't mess with the API for no reason.pic.twitter.com/16cI4luJAj

Plus this can have a negative affect on the creator anyway. Some brand might not be able to sponsor them because it says they have significantly less subs than they might want. And it will also take away the ability for people to celebrate hitting a milestone live.

That last one is very notable. While people do use real time sub counts to check analytics, a lot of people use it to celebrate hitting a milestone live with their audience. Watching that number rise live is an experience both the creator and the viewer love.

Also speaking on analytics, those are very important. That way people will be able to keep track of their channels and see if what they're making is attracting an audience. And the basic sub count on YouTube doesn't do a good job at displaying that info, given how slow it updates

Please
@YouTube@TeamYouTube, don't take the ability away for people to see the real time numbers. You can make visual changes to the site, but please don't change the API as well. There is no need to. This change does more harm than the good you claim it's gonna do.Show this thread
