Simply that Nathan Phillips approached the students to talk to them about an earlier confrontation with an African-American man. Apparently, the fact that he tried to engage them in conversation means he deserved to be tomahawk a chopped and laughed at.

Certainly the situation was more complicated than a 2-min video could convey, but *nothing* in the several narratives that have emerged justifies what these kids did. Nor does it explain the failure of any adult chaperones to intervene in a confrontation that apparently 1/

went on for two hours. Those kids damaged the image prolifers like to present of themselves as loving everyone & standing for human dignity & the value of every individual. But even more than that, the response on the right, & specifically from NRO, w/the sole exception 2/
