Men in my life think they are supporting me by telling me my internet trolls would never actually do anything. It's dismissive .

They use masculinity like a stake in the ground thats supposed to make me feel safe and to support their claim "they are just nerds who live in their mom's basement and can't get laid"

Me and most women I know doing this work in a public facing way have had at least one /r dissecting not just our work but our looks and our sexuality and also on many occasions how they imagine our sexual assault or harm playing out.

It was bad enough watching that play out onscreen for the last 4 years. It's now repeatedly playing out in real life.
