While earning money is likely the leading reason for sex workers taking up the work, I'm aware some sex workers have also mentioned they genuinely have a naturally high libido & sex work gives them a safe outlet for expressing that - money isn't the only motivator in some cases.

I started because I needed the money, & I continued because I love the flexibility. If I have a bad pain day in most jobs, I either have to go to the doctors for a medical certificate, risk losing my job, or get high on pain meds to endure. With sexwork, I just take the day off
-
Or I work from bed, wrapped in a comfy blanket, & take breaks as needed. If more jobs allowed us to work from home, I think society would be happier & healthier in general
-
Another thing I really admire about sex work is that you often get the opportunity to work less hours than an average 9-5 equiv for same earnings - gives you more time to slot in other activities like study, non-commercial creative pursuits, parenting, etc, or just pace yourself.
-
Yes! The flexibility is amazing and a real draw card

Sooooo... does that mean if I go to McDonalds and buy something I don’t like, it doesn’t count as breaking my diet?
-
I'm guessing by their logic it applies?
The whole movement is weird... and seems to have been triggered by a Chad & Stacey power couple who were probably the prom king & queen back in high school

The incel forums are a cesspit of misogyny. Many years ago I once shared their frustrations but saw better of it, decided to work on making myself into a better person & pursue my own creative & productive hobbies/interests (& suddenly ppl find you more interesting to be around)
-
Funny, that
Who would have thought that being an interesting person would make others more interested in you?

It appears to me that it IS an integral part of the process surely!

-
Right? Like, why organise it with somebody you're not attracted to? Surely it will be much more fun if you're attracted to the person, & that contributes to the fantasy?

-
Exactly! I certainly wouldn’t arrange some fun with someone I WASN’T attracted to! As you say it adds to the fantasy!

It's self-defeating logic - it's not worth trying to analyse it any further. Besides, it's entirely possible to have non-paid sex w/ someone you've no chemistry with, and that'd be just as disappointing & perfunctory.
