definitely test it out and try to understand the concepts involved fully. Then make a decision if you want to commit after.

If you do commit make sure you practice just mechanics (not ladder or competition) vs no opponent or in special arcade maps to learn

sometimes for a week or two before you can play again. Like a full hour of just mechanics practice each day at least.
