The ad experience on Twitch has gotten really really frustrating. Forced ads randomly during games is so bad. Shame they'd rather do this than just pay streamers a reasonable CPM so we all actually are motivated to build healthy ad breaks that don't disrupt content.

I get like 8 ads in a row during the ESL matches and then 15 minutes into a long game boom more ads and all I see in chat is people asking what happens in game cuz there's so many ads...

Didn't Twitch ditch forced mid roll ads? I've seen the same complaints but wonder if ESL has messed up their auto ad player (used during reruns)

They ended that experiment. They are no auto rolling fake mid rolls with a sign saying disable extensions if you have ad block on. They do this every 15 minutes. Good shit.

It's so frustrating to know they're going to fundamental overhaul ads, and yet they didn't wait until then to do something like this. Literally the worst company at fucking planning releases.

I mean, I can't agree with you more. Making the site unwatchable isn't the way to make more money. I don't know why they think this shit's going to work. They're trying to cash in on something they feel they deserve, but to do it they want to make it something they don't.
