Glad you figured it out but yeah they are ethernet ports. Just get yourself a cheapy 8 port switch and plug them all in to the switch. Plug the switch into the modem and the all the sockets around the apartment are live.

That’s confusing, what’s the top n what’s the bottom ports?

6 is the most that fit on a faceplate like that. So it would just been split up to add the extra. They should really be labelled. But you can pop off the cover and it may be labbeled underneath
