Been wondering if the Thor splash nerf way back when was too much? Thor's looking pretty average vs mutas today!

Not exactly, it has to deal with the location of the click compared to the mutalisk clump themselves. There's a radius where you can click where instead of a clump-move they retain their formation. It's not a difficult manoucre at all, though.
It's hard to always have the maximum spread though. Each time you clump up to snipe a mine or anything if you don't take enough time to fully spread you would have to do manual spreading before each magic box as well. Super easy with current age of the thor
