Have you ever tried the Long War mod? But good lord 44 dead XCOM members would guilt me way too much to continue a campaign.
Some hair tearing moments but all the more worth it. Rescued like 5 of my soldiers that got captured too lol! Been meaning to find the time for LW - I'm worried I'll get so hooked I sink 1000 hours into it lol :p

Yeah LW is a seriously massive time sink. The difficulty spikes super early as well, so I kinda personally prefer the standard campaign haha.
