People always jump to this "get a lawyer if you have a real issue" and "make sure it's in the contract" - but that's a huge financial and time consuming strain. For any deal that isn't a crazy anount of money I'd always much rather shake hands with someone in plain english.

My point was wherever possible i will operate WITHOUT a contract. Otherwise you're just letting their lawyers fuck you

It's still a contract that's legally enforcable it just cuts out the lawyer and the jargon.

If you've got it in a written email agreement where you both clearly agree on terms it's enforcable across Australia i believe. The whole point though is that of you're doing an agreement below a certain $ amount it doesn't become worth your time to tick every legal loophole

This is not my general advice to everyone it's my preferred way to operate as someone that maintains close relationships with many known entities. If there is no reputation or background, or if the $ goes above a certain amount rhan covering your ass is a good idea. But generally

If you work with lots of small agreements or are a pro player getting paid some small amount per month there shouldn't need to be a 30 page contract and lawyers involved
