Its perfectly fine to ask permission to use bitcoin as long as its not like alot of bitcoin.
Permissionless censorship resistant payments without trusted middlemen isnt really that important..
The first sentence of the whitepaper is just silly

Although its not entirely clear if bolt12 would reduce custodial use significantly. Custodial wallets would just provide per-user offers. I'm not that concerned about custodial LN, as long as you can easily send to your own nodes its fine.

Lightning works but it's very problematic. I ditched my ln node and use custodial, plus a phoenix app on my phone. You can always move sats to non custodial afterwards. But you just wanna cry like a purist poser so anyway. Nag away.
