I'm amazed that this happened to us at Disney World. How would they let a place that unapologetically uses 50s-era sexist language (the waiter threw dishes at the table and told one of the women at the table "darling, set the table") exist *here*

Who is fighting for this place to exist in this form? The excuse they used was *literally* that we should have known because the Disney Experience app calls it out as a "unique theme"

I don't go to Disney World with the expectation that I will have to due diligence to find out whether the restaurant has a theme that treats women the way they were treated in the 50s. I love this place and I love Disney. I am so disappointed 😥

What restaurant was it? So it was a 50's era theme, and part of the theme was calling a woman "darling?" I must be missing something.

50s Prime Time Cafe. And yeah, the theme was "yell at the customer" with a dash of "how women were treated in the 50s" thrown in for good measure. It wasn't just language either.

That place looks ghastly. Are you there with little ones, or just your wife? If the latter, or if you have child care with you, try to score reservation to the Flying Fish at the boardwalk - you can walk there from Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

We're there with @WyKittens. The waiter "in theme" started the debacle yelling at him and @wifelette for playing with crayons. We ended up going to The Brown Derby, and it was pretty great.

Jesus wtf. I hope that guy is just new on the job and taking the "role" way too seriously. Mama Rosa's is also nice, and child friendly.

Judging from the manager's reaction, the guy was probably just doing too convincing a job at the thing he was trained to do. This fish definitely rots from the head 😢 (though, conversely, what kind of person signs up for this *particular* job? Could be related, dunno.)

I've heard that you don't get to pick your assignment at Disney World, but I figure "I'd like to work somewhere else because I don't like berating customers" would rank as a pretty compelling reason for a transfer at Disney World.

I'm guessing a lot of patrons enjoy the shtick, but at the same time, in this day and age, I'd be surprised if that restaurant survives much longer.

Wow that's pretty horrible, why was that ever allowed to be a thing. 😶
