If you've used Ember, what positive aspects of Ember do you think don't get enough coverage (both in the Ember community and in the wider JS community)?

It’s been a while (the last I played was 5/03/17) but I think some observations are still relevant: 1. Components templates as outerHTML took a bit to readjust but it totally the right call 2. The same for args/props
-
Coming from ember, the boundaries between the two are really confusing. Like, I’m using the “same” cli but can’t generate services, etc. When you think about it’s obvious, but it’s takes some cycles.

As a general observation of the tool, it makes sense as a experimental playground, but not as a competitor to react/vue. I know very capable devs who chose Vue because react seemed like too much to them. Typescript plus the coupling of the cli strikes me as a mountain too high

That’s what I got for now. Hopefully some of it is what you were looking for.

Yep makes sense! I can see how not going into it realizing it was mostly an experimental playground could cause confusion. I'd be interested to see how people react when outerHTML and args make their way into Ember proper (they're winding their way through as we speak)
-
I’m sure it will be an adjustment, which will mean grumbling. I’m curious about how things will be with both worlds at the same time. I worry that will be the most confusing, especially for newer devs. “Why should I use one over the other?”

Figuring out how to explain the transitional state is a huge challenge. It's understandable that people will take a look at it and feel like there's a lot of change for no immediate gain, at least at first.
-
On the bright side, they will interop well from the invocation side. I think the short answer will be "use the new style for new stuff. Transition old stuff when you're changing it and feel the urge".
