I hope Rust never goes down those paths that eliminate *explicitness* that make it very clear what the code will or will not do from all angles. No black magic. Only readable and deterministic abstractions. Removing unreasonable redundancy is a different story (like type infer.).

I really agree with this. I think that things like `?` show that we can move towards less verbosity, boilerplate and redundancy without eliminating explicitness. Generally speaking, the ergonomics initiatives I am excited about don't completely eliminate useful information.
