I honestly didn't realize people trust Facebook to deliver all their daily news. I wish it were satire now.

Do you think someone's Facebook feed is notably worse than getting news from friends or their favorite 24 hour news channel?

They're exactly the same. Which is why I source my news from many different viewpoints. I just didn't realize the extent to which others DON'T do this.

I don't see the point in calling most people "idiots" (in all caps)

I'm obviously being very cynical here, because I didn't realize until now how many people trust Facebook or CNN or Fox News to be their sole source of information. But I'm not going to pussyfoot around the willfully uninformed masses that want to keep it this way.

That's the fallacy of false equivalence, though. Just because Fox & CNN follow something of the same pattern doesn't mean they do it to the same degree, or that an equidistant point is by definition correct.

Certainly not, but you must agree anyone trusting only CNN or only Fox News is getting a skewed viewpoint based on a particular target demographic. Some will get pulled further left, some further right, unless they're actively trying to get all sides of a story.

Right, but that's nearly tautological for any given news source. The problem is twofold: people accept info that validates preexisting views uncritically, and news sources are often biased... but not to the same degree.

What I'm trying to get at is that you can't just say "everyone's biased!" and throw your hands in the air. Journalism still matters, truth can still be found. The WaPo does more unbiased journalism than HuffPost. CNN covers both sides more frequently than does Fox.

Also, send news stories you think are better at covering the spectrum of reasonable ideas into the mix.
