FWIW do you like WSL? It takes less steps for me to get my previous Mac/Unix like env just given WSLs capabilities.
It works until it doesn't work. But it always fails eventually. I'm looking forward to that not being true.
Heh I suppose that's true. But I got as far as libgpu lol which is pretty good.
I donated to chocolatey because they need to exist.
Chocolatey is as good as brew now, if not better.
Do you use powershell? So far I’ve sticked to bash shipped with https://gitforwindows.org/ .
Use cmder
What shell do you use inside cmder? Looking at its website, it seems to support cmd and powershell.
Yeah, I think it's cmd but it has the usual *nix type commands anyways and I use aliases for commands it doesn't do eg. alias ..=cd ..
I don't bother with chocolatey nowadays just install git, yarn, PHPStorm, Virtualbox and Vagrant. I use a Windows Desktop, Mac Mini and a Linux laptop at work, having vagrant set up things is a huge time saver haha.
Sadly, I know what all that means. I was recently setting up nano server docker instances for Rails on Windows for produnction (although nano isn't really Windows).https://github.com/woodie/nanoserver-ruby …
