I’m beginning to think JS may be bifurcating into two largely disjoint communities. The “sw engineers” comfortable with pre-deployment tool chains and the “explorers” who want "live programming" tools like @observablehq @runkitdev
I probably need to dig deeper in a blog post

Or dig deeper on Twitter! Personally, I don’t mind a nice tool chain, but working directly with real, live values is always more pleasant when possible. You think tool chains and live code have disjoint audiences? Or just that it’s hard to cram your toolchain into a live env?

Tool chains behaviors hard to duplicate in a live environment while maintaining liveness. Also, current ES lang evolution seems to favor “SE eng” model & largely ignores liveness implications.
