Do you think it's reasonable to object to something called a "detox" on the grounds that it doesn't remove toxins? If there's another useful thing, sounds good. But don't use terminology if the best defense is "you can't understand that term by its plain English meaning"
The NHS "promotes detox" because "detox" in this context means a protocol for the removal of identified and measurable toxins. I'm not sure why you're bringing it up, though, since your argument is that only Dawkinsists believe that detox is about actual toxins.

Seems I have no substantial argument with you then. But generally when I hear people rail against detoxing they use sweeping phrases such as "detoxing doesn't work" or "you don't need to detox because: livers".
