Who will get there first? Apple having full support for PWAs or android moving to ONE good messaging app (that I can use with non android users). That will decide which phone I get next. I already will not buy a new Mac.https://twitter.com/richardiii/status/946095829495906304 …

It’s not that I overall like it either, but I’ve got older generation family on iOS, wife, friends. I just wanted a good sms client that was also accessible from a computer.
-
Right, and I'm saying in practice this is just as bad as the thing you don't like except there's nothing I can do about it. Being an Android user in a friend group that uses iMessage is a mark of shame.
-
iOS users just don't notice it because "everyone uses iMessage". It's really insidious.
-
I agree
. I became that user. I’m not a fan of how iOS handles this for other users, but for the time being I went back. I have more than a foot out the door with Apple. -
I'm hopeful RCS is the solution to this problem in the medium term, and hope that apple eventually gets pressured into supporting it.
-
I’ll be off Apple next gen either way. iPad/laptop will be a surface product. Already use desktop pc at home, convinced work to beef up my windows testing machine. Only use my work MacBook in meetings. Pixel 1 was close to enough, looking forward to 3rd gen.
-
Yeah but if apple doesn't support RCS we'll have the iMessage problem in reverse.
-
Hopefully it will be popular enough to make them
