For everyone complaining about bitcoin wait times and transaction fees. Americans spend around 215B in bank fees (ATM Withdrawal, Overdraft, etc) a year and an ACH transfer takes 2-3 days, not holidays and not the weekend. On large money transactions, it is even worse

Why? ACH transfers take time as do CC payments? Money takes more time in our current constructs to move than BTC.

They are just moving bits. At the speed of light. What's the reason for it?

In that time btw, banks make money on the float.

It's almost like being paid to confirm the movement of money...like if there was a reward, call it mining...for confirming stuff...
-
It seems unnecessary for confirming transactions to use more energy than the United States (by 2019, it skyrockets from there).
-
That's a crap stat, I've read the articles on it and can debunk the FUD they are spreading - and even if it wasn't - given that all value is based on economics, we expend energy and consume energy creating value, mining, power plants, etc..why would this be different?
-
TLDR it's just fine to waste a huge amount of energy?
-
It isn't waste if the energy is created through renewable sources. No, it isn't fine to waste a huge amount of energy. The world we live in wastes a huge amount of energy. I believe this has the potential, while currently it might LOOK like the opposite, to reverse that.
