If you don't like the tax bill, it's much easier to fix than bad health policy (which has such a huge "reshaping" effect that it causes deep inertia, and can also be done with 51 Senate votes). Let's win some elections and fix it.

Uh, I think you mean hire workers. Because that's what companies are suppose to do with the tax savings, hire workers and raise wages.

At least for small businesses, since taxes only apply to profits (and most small businesses are not strongly profitable), it's unlikely to make a huge difference. High taxes have actually correlated with higher wages for me, since it gets tax burden down :p

I'm mixed. I like about 65% of it and detest the other 35%. I wish the Republicans had the guts to go directly for the kill though and do something (1) more permanent and (2) more structural - like the Flat Tax so many of them like to campaign on.

I think there are parts that are decent (Obama wanted to cut corporate taxes to 28% because of structural problems with having corporate taxes being so mismatched with individual taxes when money is so fungible). But lots that are really just a precursor for program cuts.
