This @verge story is pretty silly. Amazon has been punishing Google users for years in a very noticeable way.
As a customer of both, I'm happy Google is ratcheting up the pressure. What's the alternative?https://www.theverge.com/2017/12/5/16738752/google-youtube-amazon-punishing-customers-feud …

Google has been punishing its users for using any non-Google service for years. Its Cast APIs are ridiculously locked down.

Can you elaborate? This does not seem true, but maybe there's some inside-amazon knowledge you're aware of?

No inside knowledge. Try streaming iTunes to Google Home.

It's not Google v. Amazon, it's Google vs everyone and Amazon vs everyone, individually.

Unless you count "every app on Android" as a "Google service" I have no idea what you're saying. Are you saying that Google blocks Apple from implementing ChromeCast support in iTunes (and they want to) but it doesn't affect Netflix, Hulu & dozens of other Google competitors?
