1: I feel that the final frontier of open source is more broadly sharing techniques for getting lots of help from user communities. People often tell me "the community doesn't provide much value for X boring problem" (infra, QA, docs)

3: Which also means people are skeptical, which means that people have been exposed to fewer effective efforts where the work (in all areas) is really driven by "the community". Which also means that "the maintainers" vs "the community" sounds like a sensible distinction.
