Hmm I think that is very subjective. When you start out it might also be that you don't care about sharing just learning. People are very different in that regard. Maybe it is good advice to try a different language if you feel the urge to quit.

I learned QuickBasic in 1996 then Pascal. Later turbo C which was very challenging but I had experience in the other two languages but stillx hard. Straight to C might be the wrong way to go.
