Newer abstractions have learned the lessons of spring. Hell, even older abstractions like rails learned the lessons is early rails. Assuming everything is like the first shitty abstraction you ever encountered is the problem we're discussing.

But it is hard to find the right abstraction and being generally sceptical about abstractions and dependencies (another hill) is healthy I think.
