I didn’t realize people wanted webpack to go away.

I think people would like native modules to be usable without an extra shim on top, eventually.
-
Webpack offers way more than just ES modules (everything as a module, chunk bundling, hot reloading). So I'd rather not letting it go yet.

I can appreciate that features start out slow with performance improved over time. But that Firefox has implemented a graph algorithm that takes minutes before crashing the tab on just 400 modules with a circular ref, while not prioritising the fix, is what worries me most.
-
I can also imagine this feature just being not that high a priority right now for them. <script type=module> isn't very useful yet. But ya, a fast native module loaders would definitely help it be more useful

What are we doing in those milliseconds? Disk io, parsing, execution, just creating module objects?
-
"just creating module objects" is a understatement. There's more nuance then that.

If there’s anyone who understands the nuance of a situation, I’m pretty sure it’s

Haha Tommmmm I know he knows. It's just to baitty for me to not comment on that comment

It seems abundantly clear we’ll be bundling JS for some time to come.
