Front end software development is: - real-time (instant load, 60fps) - distributed, incremental (synchronize remote data as needed) - asynchronous - reactive (react to user actions in realtime) Front end is the hardest kind of dev I do. The folks who do it every day are heroes.

That sounds similar to desktop or embedded development TBH. And unfortunately most frontend devs are only given time to handle the reactive part.

I wish frontend web dev were treated more seriously, with respect to docs, backwards compatibility, and given resources to tackle all that you mentioned.
