Not circular, apodictic. We are not talking Chinese Civ here!

Usually defined as the civ that has heritage from (Western) Europe (includes USA ofkz!), Greeks/Romans/Jews etc., Judeo-Christianity...
-
The civ that got a big edge thanks to creating the Renaissance and the Scientific Method, been most powerful for centuries, reached the Moon
-
But Ren came from medieval period + classical antiquity.
-
Aye! W. Civ. didn't start ~500 y ago... I did mention Greece (antiquity) & Judeo-Christianity (Middle Ages). Hard to fit a civ in 140 chars!
-
How do you define decline? Computers, miniaturization, networking all driven by Western Civilization.
-
Nah, computers are not people.

Needs a definition beyond moon missions and bell bottoms since it far predates the 70s.
-
Peak is not start. Again with the strawmen! (Did bell bottoms start in medieval Florence?)
-
No strawman. Asking for a definition that works across the entire time period. Start to peak and onward.

Yehuda, the concept of “Western Civ peaking in the 70s” should not be difficult to grasp (even if you disagree)!
-
I was just trying to get a definition of "Western Civilization" so I can understand the argument.

I wouldn't say Western civilization has peaked. I would, however, say that most people are probably Kegan Stage 3 regardless of region.
-
Stage 2. The essence of PoMo which dominates the universities in the US.
