And how do you enable this kill switch if you can't get bypass SW to get uncached code? Curious.

Just put that code in your application somewhere. If it runs, all service workers will get unregistered.

Better: have your SW hit a URL in the background. If a counter increments, unregister. Planning on doing this by default for Ember.
