for any Ember users following along, we call those hooks didInsertElement and didUpdate. The didRender hook runs in both situations.

I get the impression if I stay out of Ember *another* 3 years, the api will evolve further to just about match React 100% :P

React specifically may not be the final answer, but I believe strongly something very similar to React will be. Components ftw!

React did a great job of improving on Backbone-Angular-Ember era "views". Ember did a halfway job with 1.0-era components.
