TC39 is pretty good too. I'm not an advocate for "competition" but rather multiple solutions for many problems.

i think the thing i'm arguing for is multiple solution is great! it does not need to be competitive. diversity does not mean competition.

So long as there are N ways to do a thing, and fans of each hope that newcomers will pick their favorite, boom, you have competition.

Sometimes people compete for other reasons: for example perhaps they don't like the inclusiveness policies of the dominant project.
