For those unaware - we're working on UTF8 for unicode internally in PyPy for *both* PyPy2 and PyPy3, we care about users
Ah interesting. So pypy users are mostly using py2 and happy? What about features? Libs?

PyPy is older than Python3, so when Python 3 came out, it would have been a lot of work to support it, work that they've gradually done.
-
Also, PyPy is implemented in (a subset/dialect of) Python2 (and not changing that), which makes the transition trickier as well.
-
uh, where did you get that? PyPy supports full Python 2 (and 3 these days) INCLUDING the C API
-
RPython is based on Python 2, which is what I said.
-
yes, but this is just implementation detail - PyPy supports full Python
-
What I said in that tweet was "PyPy is IMPLEMENTED IN (a subset/dialect of) Python2", emphasis added.
-
sorry, tweets are easy to misread :-(

PyPy's adoption is low and yes, it's predominantly the 2.7 variant. But there's more cpy3 users than PyPy users. PyPy3 may bridge this gap.
