"It's more important to build the right thing than to build the thing right." How is it right to build the wrong thing o_O

Hey man I just make up the questions and then ask them to you. Worded differently: do you care more about domain fit or code quality

Code quality is worth nothing if you're building the wrong thing. Many failures were caused by forgetting this.

Note I never said wrong thing. It's not a boolean. The tightness of fit of some code to the actual domain is a sliding scale w/ many grades.

Sorry man, I don't see the problem you see with the statement.

I don't see any problem :) You said "I never said the wrong thing." But you did say "right thing". Same diff.

I don't think it is, because I don't think it's black and white. A technical solution that's only a 90% fit for the need isn't "wrong"

The intent of the question is to measure whether people care more about the implementation or the impact of their code.

For example, I know plenty of developers who will gladly work on products they believe are doomed/terribad if they can use their fave tools.
