Is the Vue team seeing better performance from proxies as some articles suggests? /cc @youyuxihttps://twitter.com/jmaicher/status/910756164589191168 …

I'm specifically curious whether our reason for Ember browser support at https://github.com/emberjs/rfcs/blob/49e72790bdb1408371e76503ea46800bafefa651/text/0252-browser-support-changes.md … matches your experience

For IE11 things become even more challenging, specially to support observability in expandos. We are doing lot of transpilng to support it
-
transpilation to support Proxies in old browsers is very challenging, specially when you need polyfills & helpers in the mix :/, but ...
-
It seems impossible...
-
Yeah as far as I'm aware that's a non-polyfill-able feature assuming you want to use the actual Proxy API.
-
yes, we use a polyfill'd Proxy API on transpiled code! Again, compatibility over performance when running in those conditions.
-
Yeah I guess if you're transpiling from the proxy api to something with a ton of boilerplate & manual proxying it would work.
-
I'm surprised JS is fast enough so that transpiling every operation to the proxy protocol is fast enough.
-
me too! jajaja! operations: getKey, setKey, callKey, instanceOfOp, deleteKey, inOp, iterableOp, etc..., it is a lot of instrumentation.

eg all desktop browser in the table of the first question here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17454/lifecycle-faq-internet-explorer … for this EOL schedule: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/13853/windows-lifecycle-fact-sheet …

Ok cool. We were assuming we could get away with vendor support EOL. Glad to hear it's true.
-
Yeah the majority of our clients are either in government or work at BigDefenseCo or similar so we find this comports with common IT policy.
