Trying to contrib to large open-source project and re-discovering how much stop-energy there is to learning bespoke bug tracker, forums, etc
Isn't the theory that external contributors won't add enough value to justify losing the alleged benefits of the bespoke system?

Some believe this. Others mis-count the costs. Most people just can't get out of their own perspective/deadlines/pressures enough to notice.

@roberthelmer here unlikely to provide significant value, so not worth optimizing for. -
I've seen that, for sure. But I've also heard people pay lip service to wanting contributors w/o being willing to rethink familiar workflows
