Maybe it’s worth bringing up that to this day, Facebook has never sued another party except in defence. But still, agree with your point.
To tone it down a bit, the playing field may be tilted against react from the perspective Google, but where's the little guy in all this?

-
Little guy should recognize that he may be no better off avoiding React. Something I wrote explaining why:https://blog.cloudboost.io/3-points-to-consider-before-migrating-away-from-react-because-of-facebooks-bsd-patent-license-b4a32562d268 …
-
It's less about avoiding react and more about the possibility of somehow getting ensnared in a proxy war. I'm personally less concerned...
-
...about the impact of individual decisions and more concerned about whether the community should consider this acceptable policy.
-
Re: community I agree it's not ideal. FB probably agrees, too. I think FB is just trying to balance their interests with community needs
-
Fair enough. I think people should be aware of that and pressure them to do better. Do you think Apache wouldn't serve them well enough?
-
No b/c Apache wouldn't deter others from initiating non-React patent lawsuits vs. FB. This is something FB has to worry about. ASF doesn't.
