Generally speaking, when there's a power dynamic at play, telling the weaker party their opinion is illegitimate because of phrasing is bad.
There's also a difference between acting like opinions are themselves illegitimate and having a conversation about effective tactics.

Your point is valid though: tactics should be evaluated relative to the concrete targets. If the target is Google, the rule probably applies

But just because it's ok for someone to use ridicule or anger when complaining about Google doesn't mean it's always ok for that person.

As an OSS person, for example, I'm the high-power figure (by far) relative to my users, but low power relative to browser vendors.
